How the layer system works
The Yambo system brings together two materials with different roles. The woollen poncho retains warmth, while the windbreaker above it offers protection from wind and light drizzle. The relaxed cut leaves air between the layers without compressing the volume of the wool
In mild autumn weather, begin with a T-shirt, shirt, or fine knit, followed by the poncho. As the air cools or the wind rises, add the membrane windbreaker above it
In winter, the poncho is worn over a warm sweater or light insulated clothing. In wind, the windbreaker is added above it, keeping the warmth of the wool within the relaxed silhouette
The order stays simple: base clothing, a warm layer, the woollen poncho, then the windbreaker as the weather requires. Its cut leaves room for the poncho, allowing the wool to retain its natural drape without gathering at the shoulders
